My dog (cockapoo) will just stair at me. If I'm busy and don't notice he'll sit up on his back legs in the begging position whine, sneeze, growl, huff, whatever to get my attention.

No need to let me know.
My dogs have a dog door fitted in the back door of mu house which they use 24/7 to get outside into the garden, which is also dog proof.

I constantly have different dogs coming in and out of my house because we foster, so here's what a few have done:
A Chinese Crested mix named Jasmine would spin in circles when she needed to potty
A golden retriever/lab mix named Dixie goes to the back door and looks up at it. If we aren't there, she'll come and stare at us until we get up to let her out.
Justin (can't remember the breed) will just hold it until we take him out. If he absolutely can't hold it, he figures the next best place is the dining room rug.

She will either bark incessantly out the front window which means she wants to go out the back yard or she will pace the floor a bit and when I ask her if she wants to go outside she will turn in circles
on her way to the back door.

Buddy gets in my face and whimpers til I let him out, and Molly sniffs around the mats (she is 11 weeks old), but normally I take them outside with me when I go outside for something eg. a smoke or to hang washing or do some gardening :)

He starts sniffing around the door, so i say "you wanna be be quick!", i open the door into the back garden and he dashes out to do it!!! {my bytch is a different story] She is an untrained pain in the backside!Believe me, Ive truly tried to house break her! I got her from 8weeks old. She is now 18 month old!!!! I am an experienced dog owner! Ive trained all of my past dogs...all except HER! she is a pugxshnautzer, she is now 20 months old and remains un housetrained!

They'll keep staring at the back door and act all excited. If I'm sleeping usually my Beagle will whine or put her paw on me to wake me up and she'll act really excited. They have specific times they like to go out. And they always want to go out when we first get home from anywhere

My Carolina Dog is very vocal, I have talked to her all the time since she was a puppy. She picks up the phrases quickly so for her she sits right in front of me and says 'Ah wah gah Owwwww'.

One barks or, if the main door is open, he opens the screen-door by himself. Another just bugs you until you let her out. One come to me and bounces up and down. And another somehow gets the first dog to come and get me. I put a bell on the door, and I can't get ANY of them ring it!

My dog is a 2 year old lab mix, she sits in front of the door when she has to go. I didn't even train her! But you could train your dog to do it, it really helps.

Originally our lab mix wouldn't give any indicators to having to potty, and would just stop whatever she was doing and go. So to housebreak her, we trained her to ring a bell we hung on the doorknob whenever we took her outside. Now she rings that bell whenever she needs to go out. :) Quite effective, though sometimes she just rings it whenever she sees another dog outside she wants to play with XD

my dogs usually whine a little then i go to see if they are okay and then they chase their tails around in circles .... some people just think they want to play but if they do actually have to use the bathroom after all of this has happened then they nudge the door with their nose and wait by it :)

My dog used to sit by the door. Now, for whatever reason, whe paws at my leg or if she is up on the bed she climbs into my lap so I can't see the computer screen and makes herself a general nuisance.

My dog Lily will follow me around and nudge her nose against my heels while I'm walking. It's quite cute, especially when I stop and look at her and say "Want to go outside?" She's one of those dogs that will twist her head when you ask her a question or if she hears something that she likes.

My cousin's dog will actually ring a bell when he wants to go outside. And he rings the doorbell when he wants to come back inside. XD
