Someone has supplied a patch here:

Need to be tested/ reviewed / potentially applied to our ports/ directory; if it gets a thumbs up, we can get it applied to macports.

A subsequent post to  the macport ticket you cited indicates that the patch proposed in that ticket is no longer needed.

If so, then I think we can close this ticket. If there is no objection, I will do so in seven days.

Looks like someone has a portfile for parrot 2.6.0

We should update (or remove) the version we keep in our repository.
