[TRAC] 'Cc:' pane does not process usernames

Description

Based on a couple of previous examples, I thought that adding 'jkeenan' to the 'Cc:' pane in Trac tickets would guarantee that I would get cc-ed on any/all changes to those tickets. After all, when I mouseover, there's a javascript popup on that pane that says: "Space or comma delimited email addresses and usernames are accepted."

However, I never received such cc's. On #parrot, rg suggested using an email address instead. That DWIMmed; I immediately received mail saying that I had been added as a Cc to the ticket in question.

So it appears that adding a mere username to the Cc box does not DWIM.

This ticket, as it stands, is unresolvable.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to add a "TracGotchas" page to the wiki, document this behavior, and then close the ticket.

Well, you never entered an email address in your Trac account, so it'd be kind of tough for it to send you an email message based on username. Try adding an email address under Preferences.

The last time I attempted to edit the Preferences in my Trac account, it froze the whole account, which had to be reset. Cf:  RT 61870. So I have deliberately not touched the Trac account since, and have advised others to do likewise.

Has the Trac preferences problem been resolved?

Since we marked that RT resolved and there have been no further complaints, I'm marking this TT resolved as well.
