Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (transl.?A Funny Story of a Stange Love) is an Indian 2009 Hindi-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Ramesh S. Taurani under Tips Industries. An unofficial adaptation of the 2005 Telugu film Soggadu, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, and tells the story of the titular protagonist, a good-for-nothing golden-hearted young man who falls in love with an orphaned young woman. Upon release, it earned ?104 crores worldwide against its ?18 crores budget, emerging as one of the highest grossing Bollywood movie of the year, after 3 Idiots and Love Aaj Kal.

Plot
The film opens with a reporter entering into a small town that looks abandoned, with a statue that speaks. The reporter asks the statue where the people of the town are, and the statue then narrates the story behind it.

Prem Shankar Sharma (Ranbir Kapoor) is a free-loader who, while helping his friend elope, meets a beautiful girl, Jennifer "Jenny" Pinto (Katrina Kaif). They both share the trait of stammering when they are emotional; in such a moment, the stammering Jenny induces a spontaneous stammer in Prem, but she misinterprets his stammer as a mockery on her.
